It looks like Buckley will be challenging for honours in Division 5 next season!

Level 1 Coaching Course in Chester

BADMINTON England have organised a local Level 1 Coaching Course. It will be held at County Officers Club, Chester on 7th May,21st May and 4th June 2011.

The cost is £215 for BE members and £225 for non BE members.

Flintshire Badminton League Presentation Evening

Please note that the Flintshire Badminton League Presentation Evening is on Friday 15th April at Corus Sports & Social Club, Shotton @ 7:30pm.

The League encourage representation from all Clubs.

Trophies will be presented to Winners and Runner-ups for the 3 League Divisions, Challenge Cup and Plate Competitions and the recent Flintshire League Tournament.

Don’t miss the Parker Trophy finals

The Parker Trophy final between Watergate A and DLCO A and the Parker Trophy Plate final between Rossett A and Capenhurst/Vauxhall will be played on Saturday 2nd April at 6pm at CCO Sports Club, Plas Newton Lane, Chester, Cheshire CH2 1PR.

Would all club members please note that the last club night of the season will be on April 18th 2011.

Starting on May 9th, we will switch to unofficial practice nights for the summer, before starting the new 2011/2012 season on September 5th.

Chester team finish with yet another win

Buckley’s Chester team – pictured here – finished the 2010-2011 season with a well-fought win at Watergate B.

After narrowly losing all their league matches in the first half of the season owing to a shortage of players, the team started on a winning streak soon after Christmas – and then never lost another match all season.

Quite a remarkable turnaround, and much credit for this must go to the Team Captain, Clifford Price, who by hook or by crook finally managed to put out full teams regularly.

The team should finish up with a creditable mid-table position, and now hope to put in some practice throughout the Summer with a view to getting a running start next season!

If you fancy attending the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships, here’s an offer of transport and discounted entry we have received from Mike Cain:

Would you like to come with Connah’s Quay Badminton Club (and friends!) to the All England Championships at the NIA Birmingham on Sat 12th March, semi-finals day.

Tickets including bus from Connah’s Quay swimming baths are £31.20 or £17.20 for juniors.

If you don’t want to come on the coach we have tickets only at £21 saving £8 per ticket.

Chester & District Badminton League have announced the date and venue for this year’s Annual Presentation & Party Night.

It is being held at Airbus Sports & Social Club on Saturday April 30th 2011 at 7.30pm.
